Final Year Project Defense

It is announced for the information of all Final Year Students that the 2026 Undergraduate Defense is schedule as on the Thursday, 3rd September, 2026 at the Faculty of Art, New Site. Students should prepare to present on their Projects/Thesis work to a panel.

Further information would be given by the Research Coordinator.

Before the Defense

• Know your work: Read your complete project document multiple times so you understand every chapter, variable, and argument.

• Understand methodology: Be ready to explain clearly how you collected your data and why you chose specific methods.

• Practice out loud: Rehearse your presentation in front of friends or mentors to build muscle memory and time yourself properly.

• Anticipate questions: Write down likely questions from your chapters and prepare clear, concise answers.

On the Day of the Defense

• Dress professionally: Wear clean, well-ironed formal attire that makes you look neat and respectable without being overly flashy.

• Manage your nerves: Take slow, deep breaths and arrive early to settle your mind before entering the room.

In the Defense Room

• Be polite and confident: Knock, enter respectfully, greet the panel with a smile, and maintain steady eye contact.

• Listen carefully: Let the panel finish asking the entire question before you begin your response.

• Stick to the point: Answer clearly and directly without over-explaining or wandering into weak areas.

• Admit gaps honestly: If you do not know an answer, do not guess; politely state that you do not have that data or offer to look into it.
