Photography Studio
The Communication Design Photography Studio is an educational photographic facility established to support teaching, learning, and creative production within the Communication Design Department of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The studio primarily serves students of the department and other creative disciplines within the university, providing a professional environment for practical training, assignments, research, and portfolio development.
The studio is managed and operated by faculty members, technical staff, and trained student assistants. It provides hands-on experience in studio photography, portraiture, product photography, fashion photography, advertising imagery, and experimental visual storytelling.
The activities and productions of the Photo Studio align with the university’s values of innovation, creativity, leadership in technology, diversity and inclusion, and the pursuit of excellence.
The studio encourages originality, ethical practice, and responsible use of resources. It also welcomes collaborations with independent photographers, educational institutions, and corporate bodies for joint projects, workshops, and commissioned assignments.
The Photo Studio is equipped with photographic tools, lighting systems and materials, to ensure students gain industry-standard experience.
