Graphic Art Students Association Hosts Successful Health Screening Exercise

The Graphic Art Students Association (GASA) of the Department of Communication Design, has successfully organized a comprehensive health screening exercise for students and staff in collaboration with the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana.

The event, held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the K. K. Adarkwa Building - Faculty of Art, commenced at 9:00 a.m and continued through to 5:00 p.m. It provided participants with access to a range of essential health services, including screening for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B, as well as genotype and blood group testing.

Demonstrating strong institutional support, the Head of Department, Mr. Anthony Kofi Badu together with several staff members, actively participated in the screening exercise. Their involvement not only underscored the importance of regular health checks but also encouraged increased student participation.

The initiative recorded an impressive turnout, with a significant number of both students and staff taking advantage of the free screening services. The high level of engagement reflects a growing awareness of health and wellness within the academic community.

Speaking on the success of the programme, the President of the Association, Miss. Zita Abisah Asare expressed satisfaction with the outcome: “The turnout was very encouraging, and we are pleased with the level of participation. We look forward to organizing similar initiatives in the future.”
