DeCoDe Alumnus receives Communicating Impact Award
An alumnus of the department as been honored as a recipient of the 2023 Communicating Impact Award presented by Geben Communication. These awards recognize students in the Scripps College of Communication who are engaged with the Barbara Geralds Institute for Storytelling and Social Impact and who have demonstrated strong leadership within the Storytelling Institute and advanced its mission.
The alumni, Anthony Acheampong popularly known as "Tony" grabbed this award as a result of his "positive attitude and eagerness to elevate the institute’s storytelling through design and animation" thereby "cultivating a synergistic environment for stronger story production that connects with diverse audiences". Until his enrolment in a masters programme at Ohio University, Tony worked with the Department at the TEK Tv unit as a graphic designer and video editor.
Anthony “Tony” Acheampong is currently a first-year student in the MFA in Communication Media Arts Program in the Scripps College of Communication.
As captured on Barbara Geralds Institute for Storytelling and Social Impact's Facebook page,
"Tony has been a tremendously supportive creative partner for the work of the Storytelling Institute at Ohio University. Our team greatly appreciates Tony and the talent and time he has invested in our work this year!"
We here at DeCoDe are glad to know our students and alumni are making global impact in their studies and work.
