Getting recognized: Student’s work gets a repost by Kivo Products on X
Second-year students from the Department of Communication Design at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) got into the trend on social media platform X, after their work was re-posted by Kivo Products for their outstanding promotional photography group work.
The students’ project, developed as part of a product advertising assignment led by Dr. Ralitsa Diane Debrah, demonstrates a compelling blend of visual storytelling and strategic brand communication. Through a series of six carefully composed images, the work explores how photography can effectively communicate product identity, lifestyle appeal, and emotional engagement without reliance on text.
The photographic series presents Kivo Strawberry in dynamic, relatable contexts. One image situates the product on fresh green grass with a blurred background, creating a natural, vibrant aesthetic that draws immediate focus to the packaging. Others explore human interaction, capturing moments of sharing, tension, and desire to communicate themes such as connection, satisfaction, and the product’s everyday relevance.
Particularly striking is “The Main Event,” where the product is creatively wrapped around a model’s head, referencing contemporary pop culture aesthetics while boldly positioning the brand as the central identity. Another image, shot from a low angle, uses cinematic composition to amplify the product’s dominance and desirability, reinforcing its appeal as irresistible and satisfying.
This recognition by Kivo Products underscores the growing impact of student-led creative work beyond the classroom. It highlights how project-based learning within the department equips students with industry-relevant skills that resonate with real-world brands and audiences.

The achievement also reflects the department’s commitment to fostering innovation, critical thinking, and professional-level execution among students. As digital platforms continue to bridge academic and industry spaces, such moments of recognition affirm the global visibility and relevance of creative talents emerging from KNUST.
This milestone not only celebrates individual excellence but also reinforces the department’s position as a hub for nurturing the next generation of creative professionals whose work can compete and thrive on international stages.
